Tips & Tricks for Playing Love and Producer (Mr Love: Queen’s Choice/Dream Date)

IMG_20190512_184950

Whenever it comes to trying out a new game with a gameplay I’m not familiar with, I simply turn into a dumbhead. I use up all the valuable resources on useless things since I don’t quite understand how it’s working. By the time I figure out the how-to, I’m stuck for good. The same happened with Mr Love: Queen’s Choice. But thankfully, I have some experience playing Love Nikki, a famous dress up game by the same company Elex. It’s wondrous how they implanted the same gameplay of a dress up game into a joseimuke game as well. Having some idea about Love Nikki indeed helped me get the hang of Mr Love. And once I finally understood how it works, I came to realize that though it’s quite complicated, it’s not as scary as it seems at first. I decided to write down the helpful points that make its playing easier. Then I thought, why not share it with the other players too while I’m at it?

So here I am, presenting my discovery to you guys! Please note that this is NOT a walkthrough nor a tutorial. I’m only pointing out some ways to effectively play it. It may come in handy if you’re a beginner or still can’t grasp its complicity. There won’t be any information on good offers requiring real money as I don’t spend any on games. I’ll update this if there’s anything new. If you have some tips and tricks, please comment it. Now let’s get down to it!

General

  • Try to use the name for the main character that you want to have permanently in first go. Changing name requires a Rename Card which you get only once by completing Normal Missions of chapter 2 with 30 (all) stars.
  • This game doesn’t have first and last name basis. So it’s better to use a name with only one part. Otherwise it feels awkward because the other characters will start calling you by the long, full name every time.
  • Make sure to go to Events –> Sign In and claim your log in reward of the day. Otherwise you won’t automatically receive it. You’ll need to spend Gems to claim them if the day has already ended.
  • If you do happen to miss out on some log in bonus, check if it’ll be worth it to reclaim it with Gems. First reclaim requires 10 Gems. So if the missed out bonus is over 10 Gems, you should definitely reclaim it. Same goes for second reclaim with over 30 Gems.
  • On your birthday you’ll receive VIP Cards as gifts. VIP Membership gives 2x log in bonus and 1 Card can be used for only 1 day. So a good trick is to start your membership after a new day starts (5 am in both Queen’s Choice and Dream Date) and then claim the doubled log in bonus. Then, claim doubled log in bonus the next day again before your membership expires in 24 hours.
  • Because of the trick mentioned above, don’t use multiple VIP Cards at once. Activate 1 at a time. That way, you’ll get 2x log in bonus for 2 months with your free 30 VIP Cards!
  • The official social media accounts often post Redeem Codes for various rewards and hold contests. Sometimes some codes are exclusively for one particular social media. So make sure to follow them all.

  • Visit Mr Love Wiki for anything and everything related to the game. It’s super helpful with all the information provided here, working like a walkthrough.
  • From chapter 19-24, the Normal Missions are a lot like Shoot Events where you have to Remake the same Mission over and over again to accumulate various necessary materials. These materials are required to unlock every single part of the main story. In fact, chapter 19 has 4 split routes for the 4 guys with different Normal Missions for each of them; and there’s a crossroad between chapter 19 and 20 called Dream Edge which only contains Missions to accumulate materials in order to unlock chapter 20. Moreover, the further you proceed in the stages, the more materials will be required. So it is recommended to have at least 2000 Stamina if you’re planning to binge read chapter 19-21 and over 2000 Stamina for chapter 22-24.
  • There are some Events where completing any Normal and/or Elite Missions give materials for getting Karma, rewards and/or purchasing other useful materials. So once you are at a high Company level and have finished the available chapters and Elite Missions, stack up your Stamina for these Events.

Daily Quest

  • Try to finish at least 10 Quests everyday to get 50 Gems, as Gems are an important item that are hard to get.
  • Until you’re at the level to get minimum 5 Courses as rewards everyday through City News and 24 Hr Challenge, it would be wise to save up some Courses for the next few days and use 5 of them for Training everyday.
  • Karma Pass converts the duplicates of a Karma that you own into Memory Stardust, which is needed to Evolve and Ascend Karmas. But don’t convert many or even all the multiple copies in one go unless needed. Convert one everyday to complete a Daily Quest and earn rewards.

Company

  • At first the game will use the main character’s name as your company name. When you get the chance to change the name to something else, use the one you permanently want to have. It can’t be changed for free after that.
  • Company level can increase Company Strength, which gives points to clear Missions. Raising up company level requires exp. To get exp clear any Mission. For example Normal Mission, Elite Mission, Footage. You can even Remake (replay) old Missions you’ve already completed to gain exp.
  • Completing Daily Quest also gives a lot of exp to raise Company Level.

Experts

  • No matter which level your expert is in, they all give the same points in Missions for having the required specs. So choose any of the experts who fulfill the specs requirement without worrying about their level.
  • Each Expert got any of the 4 attributes: Decision, Creativity, Affinity, Execution. Leveling up an Expert means increasing its given attribute. So level up the Experts with the attributes you’re lacking.
  • Each level up of an Expert increases its given attribute usually by +4, and +5 on a much higher level. But the higher its level, the more Gold it takes to level up. So it’s not worth it to level up after an Expert is near level 20, unless you have an abundance of Gold. Save it for strengthening Karmas (cards) as they’re more useful and give far more points.
  • Since each level up usually increases the same amount of attributes but higher level requires higher amount of Gold, level up the Expert who is in the lowest level. Example: you want to increase your company’s Affinity. You’ve got 2 Experts who got this attribute. But one is at level 10 and another is at level 7. You should level up the latter one.
  • When choosing one Expert out of a few who all possess the required specs for the first Expert requirement in a Mission, try to choose the one whose other specs might not be required in the next Expert requirement, who is rarely needed for a Mission or has other specs that your other Experts also have. Because once you select an Expert, you can’t select the same one for the next Expert requirement in a Mission.
Example: in a Mission an Expert with the spec “Security” is asked for. Expert A and B both fulfill the requirement. But Expert A has other specs like Variety, Docu that are often required in Missions. But you don’t have any other Expert who got these specs. While Expert B’s only other spec is Humor, which is rarely needed and your another Expert also has it. It’s better to choose B here, as you might need A for the next one.
  • If you don’t have an Expert who got both of the specs required in a Mission, choose someone who got at least one of the specs.
  • If none your of Experts got any of the specs required in a Mission, choose someone who got a similar or relevant spec. For example if you don’t have an Expert with the spec Security, you can choose someone who got the spec Fight. It might give you some points at the least.
  • Make sure to investigate in City News to hire more Experts from its Talent Market. Leveling up in City News gives you higher title as an investigator. The higher your title, the more set of Experts will be available for you to hire.
  • Collecting enough Investigation Medal to hire an Expert takes some time. So don’t go hiring whoever you want without taking the specs into mind. Wait until you get stuck in a Mission where you don’t have a suitable Expert. Check out the images showing specs requirements in the sections for Normal Missions and Elite Missions.

Training

  • Focus on Training for the attributes that you’re lacking.

Already mentioned before in another section:

  • Until you’re at the level to get minimum 5 Courses as rewards everyday through City News and 24 Hr Challenge, it would be wise to save up some Courses for the next few days and use 5 of them for Training everyday.

Karma and Shards

  • Strength-wise this is how Karma levels stand: SSR > SR > R > NH > N. So it’s best to focus on strengthening the higher ones than the lower ones.
  • It’s fine even if you don’t have many or even any SSR or SR Karma. Upgrade, Star Up, Evolve and Ascend your SR and/or R Karmas to a great extent. Evolved R Karmas are more powerful than SR Karmas that aren’t Evolved. Evolved SR Karmas are more powerful than SSR Karmas that aren’t Evolved.
  • Notice that each Karma has 3 of the 4 attributes with similarly high points, while one attribute is very low. No matter how much you strengthen the Karma, that one attribute will still remain uselessly low. Keep it in mind when strengthening a Karma. For example if you need Affinity and Execution for a Mission, try to make sure the Karma has both of these attributes on a high level, not one being high and another one being low.
  • Even for the 3 attributes with high points, try to go for the Karma where their disparity is low. If one Karma has Decision 146, Creativity 18, Affinity 94, Execution 122 and another Karma has Decision 150, Creativity 24, Affinity 138, Execution 146; it’s better to prioritize the second Karma for strengthening. Because it has high Affinity on a closer level with Decision and Execution unlike the first Karma (Creativity is uselessly low here).
  • Follow the same when Redeeming Shards from Box Office Contest Store and Redeeming Karmas from Wish Tree as well. The high quality picture of your favorite guy is tempting but sadly only the attributes’ points matter in the gameplay!
  • Do not waste any Upgrade Items for Upgrading NH and N Karma, unless you’re a beginner who doesn’t have many options left.
  • Karma doesn’t contribute to Company Strength, if I’m not mistaken. It only helps with its attributes’ points when you’re directly using them for a Mission. So don’t strengthen many Karma at the same time in a scattered manner. It’s not fruitful. Focus on one Karma at a time, Upgrade it to its highest level and then move on to another. Star Up the ones on their highest level. Evolve and Ascend the most effective ones.
  • When strengthening Karma your priority should be this way: Upgrade > Star Up > Evolve > Ascend.
  • Don’t let the Stamina pile up and waste it at the beginning. Decide on a Karma you want to Star Up or Evolve, then spend the Stamina not being used for progressing with the main story to play Normal Missions and Elite Missions to gain the required items for Starring Up and Evolving.
  • To Upgrade a Karma, exp is required. 3 types of Upgrade Items are used for this. One Encounter Wish (one paper crane) gives exp +300, one Bond Wish (three paper cranes) gives exp +1000 and one Confess Wish (many paper cranes inside a glass bottle) gives exp +4000. As more powerful Karmas require more exp to Upgrade, it’s best to spend Bond Wish and Confess Wish for SSR and SR Karmas, and Encounter Wish for the others.
  • If you want to use a specific Upgrade Item for Upgrading a Karma, don’t press the blue “Level Up” button. It’ll start consuming all the Upgrade Items in the ascending order of given exp. Tap and hold the icon of the item you want to spend and only that item will be used.
  • Completing a Mission (first try and Remake both) slightly increases the exp of the Karmas used in that mission. So if you need, suppose 100 exp more to Upgrade a Karma but don’t have enough Upgrade Items, use that Karma to complete a Mission to gain exp. Not to mention finishing a Mission may also give you Upgrade Items.
  • Evolve materials related to the main character, such as My Selfie Stick and My Portable Camera, are needed for Evolving Karmas of any guy. So these materials are used very often. Stack up these in abundance.
  • When Summoning the 3 Karmas in a Mission, select the first Karmas from each attribute for the first two slots. For the last one check the points you get for selecting each of the next few Karmas of both attributes. Go with the combination that gives high points for both attributes.
For example suppose Strength Required: Affinity, Creativity. Select the first Karmas that appear for their sections. Then check which of the next 2-3 Karmas from both sections gives the highest points for both Affinity and Creativity. Look out for disparity as well. A Karma with Affinity 368 and Creativity 496 might be a better choice than a Karma with Affinity 135 and Creativity 620.
  • Play Footage every 10 hours. Remake one finished stage 3 times everyday until you’ve got enough Shards to combine them.
  • Footage only allows the Karma of the given character and NH, N Karma for its Shootings. You can’t use any Karma of one guy in another guy’s Footage. So you should strengthen at least 3 Karma of each of the guys with all 4 attributes.
  • Some stages in a Footage give you many Shards (20+) if you complete the Mission in first try. If a stage shows a small gift box over the guy’s icon, it means it has that 1st Clearance Rewards. Make sure you’ve got the ability to finish that stage in first try. If you barely passed the previous stage with 1 star then don’t go to play it before strengthening your Company and the Karmas of the respective guy.
  • When you have no stages left in Footage to Remake and gather Shards for a new Karma, continue to Remake old stages. Preferably, decide on a Karma/Karmas whose Shards appear in multiple stages. Then you’ll get to accumulate the necessary number of Shards to combine into a Karma quickly. Convert these duplicates into Memory Stardust through Karma Pass to Evolve and Ascend Karmas.
  • Chapter 19 has split routes for the 4 guys with different Normal Missions for each of them. Just like Footage, these Missions only allow the Karmas of the corresponding guys along with NH and N Karmas. Shaw is the only character who gets R, SR and SSR Karmas like the 4 guys but is considered a neutral one. His Karmas are under a whole new category called Fateful Karma and these can be used in any Missions of chapter 19, Footage and any Shooting during an Event. Thus, his Karmas really come in handy. Collect them if you can.
  • Chapter 22-24 has character Buffs in its Normal Missions. It’s like Box Office Contest where one of the 4 guys is featured every week and his Karmas will be boosted according to the number of stars if you use them. Each Mission has 120% Buff for any one of the guys. So no matter who you like, try to collect at least a few SSR and SR Karmas for all of them.
  • Play Box Office Contest everyday, receive daily rewards and Redeem Shards of the same Karma/s from the Box Office Contest Store consecutively as many days as possible until you’ve got enough to combine them into a Karma.
  • Some Events give free Karma, usually R and SR, whose Shards you can Redeem from Box Office Contest Store. The monthly Sign-In Gift R Karmas from previous months also come back here for those who missed out on getting them. So make sure to save up 1800 Box Office Medal for the R Karmas and 12000 Box Office Contest for the SR Karmas.
  • The more powerful type (SSR, SR, R etc) a Karma is, the more Memory Stardust and other Ascend materials it will give from Karma Pass. Convert the stronger ones first to accumulate Memory Stardust fast.

Already mentioned before in another section:

  • Don’t convert many or even all the multiple copies of Karmas into Memory Stardust in one go unless needed. Convert one everyday to complete a Daily Quest and earn rewards.

Wish Tree

  • Don’t waste Gems and Galaxy Wish Coupons (used in the Gem pool in the place of Gems) on Wish Tree on regular times. Wait until there’s an Event going on and the odds of getting the Karmas have been increased for a limited time. Most SSR and SR Karmas are added only for a limited time. They’re not available anymore after the time period ends.
  • If some SSR and SR Karmas are scheduled to become permanently available for Redeeming with Flowers later, it would be better to not buy 10 pulls with Gems and/or Galaxy Wish Coupons during the Event with odds up. There’s no guarantee of obtaining them and you’ll get to Redeem them at some point anyway. Save up for the ones that won’t be permanent.
  • It’s a better choice to collect Petals and spend Flowers for SSR Karmas instead of SR Karmas, even though it takes a long time. Because obtaining SR Karmas is easier and even duplicates are given sometimes. But the possibility of getting even one SSR Karma is scarce, let alone getting the same more than once/
  • Since there’s no notification for when a free pull is available, you can set an alarm right after making a pull for the next one. It’s especially helpful when spending Gems/Galaxy Wish Coupons and Gold/Sunrise Wish Coupons are given as tasks during an Event.

Missions

Already mentioned before in other sections:

  • When choosing one Expert out of a few who all possess the required specs for the first Expert requirement in a Mission, try to choose the one whose other specs might not be required in the next Expert requirement, who is rarely needed for a Mission or has other specs that your other Experts also have. Because once you select an Expert, you can’t select the same one for the next Expert requirement in a Mission.
Example: in a Mission an Expert with the spec “Security” is asked for. Expert A and B both fulfil the requirement. But Expert A has other specs like Variety, Docu which are often required in Missions. But you don’t have any other Expert who got these specs. While Expert B’s only other spec is Humour, which is rarely needed and your another Expert also have it.
  • Don’t let the Stamina pile up and waste it at the beginning. Decide on a Karma you want to Star Up or Evolve, then spend the Stamina not being used for progressing with the main story to play Normal Missions and Elite Missions to gain the required items for Starring Up and Evolving.

New:

  • If a Mission has a question with 3 options to choose from, you can simply press the ⬅ button to go back if you get the normal answer. Because your Stamina won’t decrease until you finish the Mission. You can start again and choose the other options until you get the perfect answer.
  • Check the images below, published by the Mr Love mobile social media, showing the attributes and specs requirements for each of the Missions in every chapter. Check the specs and count the number of times an attribute is needed. Prioritize the ones that are required more and hire Experts, level up, Train and strengthen Karmas based on them.

  • Frequently Remake the Elite Missions that contain Evolve materials related to the main character, such as My Selfie Stick and My Portable Camera. These are used for Evolving Karmas of any of the guys. So stack them up in abundance.

Footage

  • This game is awesome for the fact that it rewards you even for failing. Fail to film intentionally 200 times to get 50 Gems!

Already mentioned before in another section:

Box Office Contest

  • Although there are 2 suggested attributes everyday, in actuality all the 4 attributes are counted, as shown in the animation during the contest. So try to choose Karmas with high points for the other 2 attributes that weren’t suggested as well.
  • Press and hold on the opponent’s avatar to see the Karmas they’re using in the contest. Look out for not only the type of Karma (SSR, SR etc) and their level, but also for the number of stars they possess and if they have been Ascended. One SR Karma on level 50 with 5 stars is more powerful than one SRR Karma on level 40 with 1 star. If the logo of the Karma type has different colors than normal ones, the Karma has been Ascended to its highest level, making it super powerful.
  • I might be the only dumbass to not notice something crucial at the beginning because it wasn’t mentioned in the rules. The guy featured as the Guest will give you a boost if you use his Karmas. 3 stars give 10% boost, 4 stars give 20% boost and 5 stars give 30% boost.
  • It’s very important to remember during Box Office Contest Events that you can only buy up to 20 Challenge times (retries) in a single day. Moreover, the Gems requirement keeps increasing the more you buy. 10 Gems for each of the first 5, 30 Gems for each of the next 5, 60 Gems for each of the next 5 and 100 Gems for each of the last 5 Challenges. So utilize everyday of such an event, otherwise it might cost you a lot or you might even miss getting the Karma altogether.
  • If you need to ensure winning for a Box Office Contest Event or any other Events, a good strategy is to use weak Karmas in your Lineup beforehand. Your rank will fall rapidly. Then you can change your Lineup again to powerful Karmas and win against the weak opponents. Since ranking up may cause you the same problem as before, you can compete against the 3rd opponent, in other words the one with lower rank than you. That way your rank will remain as it was.

Already mentioned before in another section:

City News

  • Go to Stats and select all the Karmas that appear on the top chronologically up to the highest number of Karmas you can use. It’ll give you the highest Stats, in other words the highest Investigation Ability.
  • Every time you strengthen a Karma a lot or get a new title as an Investigator, check Stats and make sure that all the top Karmas are chosen up to your full slot.

Already mentioned before in another section:

  • Collecting enough Investigation Medal to hire an Expert takes some time. So don’t go hiring whoever you want without taking the specs into mind. Wait until you get stuck in a Mission where you don’t have a suitable Expert. Check out the images showing specs requirements in the sections for Normal Missions and Elite Missions.

City Stroll

  • Press the “Auto On” option and let the Stroll of each guy work automatically.
  • After finishing the 50 free rounds of Strolls of each guy, press the 🔄 button to play more 50 rounds with 5000 Gold if possible. Since finishing 50 rounds give 10000 Gold, this time your Gold will increase 5000. Counting all the four guys, you’ll get 20000 Gold.
  • It’s best if you reset the City Stroll Quest for the second time of the week. Your Gold won’t increase this time as it’ll require 10000 Gold for doing so. But finishing 150 rounds give 100 Gems. You can get 400 Gems in total if you get to finish the second reset of every guy.
  • To finish one stroll immediately, tap on the paper airplane icons on the pop up that appears when you tap on City Strolls. It’s called Power Walk Card. One Power Walk Card is consumed to finish one stroll in just a second. The number showing over the paper airplanes is the number of Power Walk Cards you own. You can buy them from 24 Hour Challenge Store.

Date

  • Star Up Karma to get Karma Promise to unlock Date Plots. The higher the number of star, the more Karma Promise you’ll get.
  • There’s a Daily Quest which gives you one Karma Promise for drawing 3 Karmas at Wish Tree. If you’ve got much Gold, you can spend it on its Gold pool in order to get a Karma Promise. On the days you can draw a Karma for free at the Gems pool, you’ll have to spend 3000 Gold for one extra draw at the Gold pool. On the days you don’t get a free draw at the Gems pool, you’ll have to spend 6000 Gold for 2 extra draws at the Gold pool. I don’t suggest using Sunrise Wish Coupon.

  1. Keep updating. This is very helpful. I’m losing myself in this game but I don’t want to delete it because it’s my first ever otome game that I’ve ever played that is so fun. Thanks for the tips. 😊😊😊
